Susan’s Birthday Dinner 2009

Susan is having a hard time deciding what she wants to do for her birthday dinner and wanted me to make a poll. She is trying to decide between a growler from Red Oak and Doritos or 1618 West Seafood Grill. If she lets me add some more food in addition to the Doritos I am happy either way, otherwise my vote is for 1618.  If you have another suggestion feel free to add it in the comments.

What should we have for Susan's birthday dinner

  • Growler and Doritos (63%, 5 Votes)
  • 1618 (38%, 3 Votes)
  • Other (add suggestion in the comments) (0%, 0 Votes)

Total Voters: 8

I didn’t see a way to click to vote but I vote for 1618. It’s your bday you have to do something extra special!!

  2. Mom says:

Maybe you could add a burnt grilled cheese sandwich to the menu. That would go great with doritos and beer. It could also be a new food for Susan to try.

  3. Paul says:

I think you couldn’t vote because you were at work and my vote was from there so the ip address was the same. I am adding your vote for 1618.

  4. Paul says:

I have had many burnt grilled cheese sandwiches with Susan around but I have yet to be successful at getting her to try one.

  5. Bridgette says:

1618 looks nice but not quite the Sue I know… even if you deserve something special for hitting 35! I’m sure you have either been there or checked the menu to make sure you would eat something. I do not recommend your birthday as a new food day – especially not burned grilled cheese! Good luck!

  6. Paul says:

She has been to 1618 a few times and loved it every time. It kind of surprised me also. Oh, and there is no better meal than a burnt cheese toast!

  7. Biz says:

I know this is a rare thing, but i must agree with my brother on this one! There is nothing better than a burnt grilled cheese. Especially when the cheese squishes out and gets burnt too! YUM YUM. Whatever you decide, Susan, I hope you enjoy your birthday dinner.

  8. Susan says:

Oh!!! We have a dark horse emerging out of NOWHERE!!! Harris Teeter has salmon fillets on sale!!! That way I can hibernate AND STILL have a restaurant-quality meal. Cous cous on the side.

    Hook it up, Chef Paul!!

  9. Bridgette says:

Oh, geez… sure, sure… ask for our opinion and then magically find something else that you want. Are you a youngest child?! =) Happy day! Good luck keeping up with the changing birthday wishes, Paul!

  10. Paul says:

We still have a few days left. I am sure she will change her mind several more times between now and then.

  11. Biz says:

She’s allowed to! It’s her birthday!! Besides, she’s the youngest child! :)

  12. Paul says:

Every thing is perfect in life until the youngest comes along and causes all kinds of problems

  13. Susan says:

OK, after “The Triple Hump of Death Birthday Victory Ride: The Ride that Spanks You 35 times and one to Grow On” (not even I could come up w an acronym for THAT), I am unable to eat much and am very upset about that status. In order to make up for that, I may need all THREE options tomorrow.

BTW—There will be a longer post about it in detail, but I did make it up all 9,000 odd feet today… although tears were shed, skin was burnt, muscles were cramped and literally EVERYTHING hurt. It was awesome.

  14. Biz says:

So we’re all waiting in anticipation. What was the decision?

  15. Paul says:

    The salmon at home won.
